Our program aims to provide the most intuitive training program through clinical exposure for residents to various eye conditions in different settings, such as general ophthalmology, cornea, glaucoma, retina, pediatric ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, low- vision and oculoplastics. Residents or fellows work directly with patients, gaining experience in diagnosis and treatment. Practical training in surgery is a critical part of ophthalmology. Programs often include hands-on labs and supervised surgeries where residents progressively handle more complex procedures, from minor surgeries to major ones, such as cataracts, corneal transplants, and retinal surgeries. Our department’s vision is appropriate and affordable quality eye care for our patients and academic learning to improve the practice of ophthalmology.
